Biggest Loser Challenge-Two weeks in...
So I have been in the Biggest Loser Challenge for just over two weeks now. Yes if you have been following along the first week was not so much fun and my dedication was almost non existent. I have to say though as the time is going on it is getting better. My self control is one thing that has improved dramatically. Yay for self control ;-)
I am so impressed by the women that are in the challenge with all of the support and results we have seen this far into the challenge. We as a group have lost 40 pounds!!! That is pretty much the weight of my 4year old!!!
The third week is not starting off as great as I would have hoped as Monday My 2year old was sick with a fever and was wanting mommy all day and then today we were woken up by my 4year old wanting to throw up. So workouts have not been happening, but I have been watching what I am eating. Better then nothing the way I see it!!

Review Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil
For those that know me I am always looking to try new things and although it does not always work out so well. The amount of times that it does though makes it all worth while for the times that it does not. Having a young family I am always looking at new ways to cook that are healthier for our family as a whole. At the same time making sure it is not too extreme that the kids will handle it.
I received a while back a jar of Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil for my family to sample in our own home. I do not cook a lot with oils but wanted to introduce the coconut oils in the same areas that I use vegetable or olive oil.
I have to say first off I love the smell that comes from the coconut oil versus the other oils that I normally use. It gave the food and the room a pleasant smell that was not something that was overly powerful. I was worried at first that the coconut taste would be strong in the food since it made the room smell so good. However, I am pleased to say I have cooked with it in many different styles of food and no one in my immediate family or even family visiting had commented on it having a strong taste. I have not even mentioned that I have used it instead of the other oils and no one has mentioned about the taste. This clearly speaks for itself as my children being 2 and 4 have no problem telling me if I make something that they think tastes bad :-)
I personally can not speak of the health benefits of coconut oil, but from what I have read everything seems to be positive and if you are interested in adding it into your cooking I would recommend checking out Tropical Traditions Page. The first thing that you will see is.. Do you know where your food is coming from. I think this is important for all of us to know and sadly majority of the population (myself included) has no idea what happens to their food prior to them purchasing it in the grocery store or wherever they bought it. I feel if we cared just as much about what we put into our body as we have surrounding us that is materialistic then a lot could be done with our health problems and weight issues.
I love the fact that this company is clearly proud about their standards of what the produce and it is not just about the money they care about their quality of products that they put out on the market. Definitely take some time and check out their page and all of their fabulous products!

The Biggest Loser Ups and Downs
I am happy to say I am on the way...I've started doing the Challenge and have my head hopefully focused in the right direction! I say hopefully because as it has only been a few days I have already have ups and downs. Like everything in life I was expecting this so ofcourse it was so big suprise for me at all. They say everything that happens in life is a learning experience and this is definately the case on both my ups and downs.
I have figured out one weakness for me right now is evenings when everyone is in bed and I get home from work. If I was totally drained and could go to bed as soon as I get home that would be perfect. Reality is I am not and it takes some time for me to wind down. I normally will watch a show I have missed or if I have some books I'll start reading. I have been eating my supper before I go to work about 430pm and I know I am not hungry when I come home, but why does that darn voice in my head not agree. I have told myself if I find I am hungry or craving something then it will be a fruit or vegetable, but reality is that has not been the case yet. Reality is today is another day and I am hoping I would be stronger then that voice!
On a positive note I have started out working out again. Although it has not what I have planned, it is better then nothing. My plan is to go after I drop my eldest at school and workout for the morning. This has not been happening as I end up having errands I have to do or my little one sleeps in so I have to come back after taking my eldest to school to get the little one ready for the day. Then as I am home I can not force myself to go out in the cold again. Today I did a work out video and my two year old decided she was going to do it with me! I guess not making to the gym is not totally bad as I would have missed out on this moment.
The best part though out of it all is that I am writing down everything that I eat. Which works great for me as with doing this as I went to write down my lunch yesterday I realized I had not eaten anything myself yet. It was not that I ate and did not take the time to write down. I just did not eat! I had the kids fed, lunch put together for my eldest, youngest had her snack. Then with all the other things that always seem to need to be done I forgot about making sure I ate. This I know is totally not healthy and I know I need to focus a bit more on myself and make sure its the good food I am eating. Though most importantly making sure that I eat something!!
So today I worked out, ate all meals and wrote everything down. The hard part is once I go to work, what will happen once I get home. Tonight I hope will be the better night!

Biggest Loser Challenge:Will I be the biggest Loser??
Well this is a bit delayed but I promised myself I would blog over the next couple of months about my Biggest Loser Challenge that I am in. I got "offcially" weighed in a week ago this past Sunday and I am using my blog as another way to be accountable for my part in it.
So here are the details of it: Myself and some other moms that I know from Moms Club that I run in my city are having a challenge who can loose the highest % of weight by the end of the challenge (May 1st). We all had to put in $25.00 and the winner at the end will receive the cash.
Honestly the money would be great, but loosing weight is on a higher scale for me then the money! We are meeting every two weeks and have a group set up for chatting and for support. Sounds Great doesn't it??
Then why am I having such an issue getting motivated to get start. It has nothing to do with I don't know I need to loose weight and get in shape. It also has nothing to do with that it is too much work. Anyone who has children I personally think can handle anything. I just keep procrastinating. Every day I say tomorrow will be the day and tomorrow comes and then I say it again.
I have been so drained lately and been having back aches and headaches so much that its getting past the point of putting it off anymore. My issue is that I have stopped working out and instead of working out and helping to get rid of the stress of life. I am keeping it literally all on my shoulders!
Today I went shopping and stocked up on fruit and vegetables. Tomorrow as I take my eldest to school I am going to continue down the street and spend my morning at the gym. Yes, I know I am putting it off from today again. Procrastinating... Although the difference is that I have written it down and although I may be my own worst enemy. I have commited to doing this to my blog world. If I am not good at anything at all I am good at keeping my word.
So here is to the Biggest Loser Challenge and my mission on becoming healthier and over coming that voice in my head that wants me to fail.
"When you’re running and that voice in your head that starts saying to you, “slow down, your ankles are hurting” tries to get you to stop, that’s when you keep on running and breakthrough.
When you learn to defeat that person inside that tries to get you to stop, you can defeat anything that stands in front of you. Anything that’s blocking your way toward your true purpose, destination and goal."
