Who am I to judge?

So yesterday as the family was grocery shopping I was with my youngest and we were buying some corn on the cob.  The kids LOVE eating this and since its cheaper this time of year I am happy to buy it til they decide they don't want it anymore. :-)
Strange as it may seem as Im cleaning off the tusks off the corn I had a epiphany. Although I would like more money would I be willing to give up moments like this.  Moments of peace with my children doing things that many aren't able to do.  I would truly miss little moments like this that I probably take for granted now.
Having money and being famous is not the same as it was years ago.  Every move one makes or doesn't make seems to captured for all to see without permission.  The worse the picture is the more it will sell and how sad is that.
A few weeks back I won tickets and went with a friend of mine to see Christina Aguilera perform on the Today Show in NYC.  I am not a huge fan, but I have say after listening to her perform in person I do like her a whole lot better. Here we are snapping away taking photos and then of course checking after to see what our pictures looked like....deleting all the bad ones.  Not so much the case for the Paparazzi beside us.  With never seeing anything like this I was in awe as soon as she stepped out on the stage their cameras were up taking photos, not stopping at all. One of us then made a comment that here we are deleting the bad pictures only keeping the good ones and yet there they are probably hoping for a bad picture of her along with the good cause we all know what will sell better.
When I got home I was taking to a rep at the radio station that I won from and made a comment about the pictures and he commented on the same saying that they'll find a picture with her with bloodshot eyes and a whole story will come out about her (or any star) on drugs or that they were drinking all night.  Not knowing what she was actually doing the night before or realizing what time she was up for the performance.  I personally have to say I had bloodshot eyes and it was because I was going on less then three hours of sleep and yes I still had them on my flight home as the customs agent commented on them.  That is a story in itself LOL!
Today I was reading an article about Robert Pattinson and it was commenting on how he sits, criticizing his posture and stating something along the lines with being a superstar hes got to own it and hold his head up high.  Okay, so let me get this straight hes a superstar in part by the role he plays and by who he is as well.  So he should change things about himself to become the stereotype of what the media/society thinks he should be.  Is that the best we can find that he doesn't sit up properly?
Lastly Justin Bieber.  No I am not a fan but remember when I was a little girl and probably would have been a fan of his back in the day.  Last time I checked he was still a kid, a kid who got famous so fast and at the same time has people that hate and annoyed by him to the point where constantly put him down or say words about him I can not believe.
Okay, in case anyone does not know I am not a professional in the stars industry.  I am just a mom thinking ahead as you never know that could be one of my children going through this.  As well I am thinking about the moms of these stars and what they have to see and hear being said about their children.  I have to say that I am saddened by our society and what we think goes a long with the price of fame.  Why is it that when someone is doing nothing wrong we have to pick at the littlest things in order to make a story.
We are so desperate to put a title on everything and ask those who are famous to be perfect, when we are not.  It is like purposely we are looking for them to fail.  Is it just me or does something seem wrong with that?  Especially knowing that so many people, including our own children, may look up to them.

First Day of Summer!!!

Today is officially my favorite day of the year!  I know being the first day of summer it doesn't signify that the weather will be nice or anything like that.  Last year we had a pretty mild summer, which payed off come Winter as that was mild as well!!  The reason I am now picking June 21st as my favorite day (until further notice) is because it is the longest!!! Since having children that seems to be the one thing I need a lot more of and I am thankful to Mother Nature and all that had a part in giving me more time.

I truly appreciate it and I hope today is the day when I get all my "tasks' completed :-)

Crazy, Crazy June

This week has been one for the both good ways and bad. Wednesday my eldest had her graduation from her preschool. :-( She's going to be going to school full time in the fall and as shes a December baby, she'll be one of the youngest in her class. This is both good and bad. Bad cause the time has gone by so fast, good because I know she's ready and she'll love it. She's already talking about the big school and she can't wait til she can go to it. I'm sure it helps that she has older cousins and that she knows they go to the big school. So it can't be that bad can it :-)

However, will all this I am still saddened by how fast the time has gone. I was just thinking the other day I remember before having kids sometimes my work weeks would drag on and on and on and on. Though now it seems when I wish I could slow it down it goes by even faster. Its a cruel world. :-(

Today is my hubbys bday, or well as its 12am now I guess yesterday it Miss J (my eldest whos 3) decided she wanted to make daddy a cake so we walked to the store and she picked out her sprinkles and icing colours. So my husband ended up getting a marble cake with chocolate icing with pink, purple, blue and yellow sprinkles pink writing icing and coloured stars. Not very masculine haha but they had fun making it and Im sure he loved it.

Tomorrow is officially Miss J's last day of preschool. I know she doesn't understand that but mommy is sad enough for both her and I. Though call me selfish I wish I could keep them this age forever. I love every moment, even the ones when they are driving me bonkers. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for all the new experiences she is going to have, but I am going to miss her like crazy.

OH and in case your wondering in this picture she's saying cheese and doing this funky vogue pose with her arms.  Yup thats pretty much what every photo is like now a days but with different vogue arms.

Okay I need to come clean....

Okay since everyone is getting to know me here on this blog, I felt there is something you all should know.  I'm a TWIMOM. :-)  Okay so I didn't start out this way....I had a lot of friends who had watched Twilight and I had totally refused to, I knew nothing about the books, the movie, the actors...nothing at all.  Then I happened to go on a holiday with my daughters and visit my family in Saskatchewan.  Well ofcourse not being at home I had a break from the normal home chores that I usually do at nap time.  So I happened to turn on their movie network and saw Twilight was just starting so I watched it.  Since then I have been hooked!!

I read and loved all the books and a great thing about this is I loved reading and hadn't ever seemed to find time...NOW I make time to read (and yes I read more then the twilight series).  My little ones are so intrigued seeing me reading now and most of all my 3yr old is impressed my book has no pictures (which I wished it had haha).  I have seen the movies up to date and on June 29th I am going with a group of girl friends to the Triple Screening at the theater.  I can say all my friends are all just as excited as me, we are all moms and can't remember the last time we did something like this.  We get to feel young again (and hope we don't fall asleep after the second show hehe).

I honestly tell everyone if you haven't read the books, YOU MUST.  I thought I was too cool for them and look what I had missed out on.  I could have fallen back in love with reading a long time ago instead of just now.

Oh and in case you wondered...I am all about Team Edward (but I can appreciate Jacob)!!!

Who would have thought!

Okay, So I tend to think I am not technically challenged.  However, with starting up this blog I am starting to re-think that : -)  I am loving that this is a whole new ball park for me and an area that I am NOT familiar with.  It challenging, confusing and in all lots of fun.  I just hope in the end you and I will both be pleased with the end result of this blog!  Thanks for coming to join me on my journey of being a blogging mom and I can`t wait to find out what else I am going to learn down this road!!
