Have you hated your job this much??

Most of us have worked a job we hated!  If you have not then you truly are one of the lucky ones.  It may not be that you hated the job completely, but loving it 100% is a totally different experience!  I can clearly say that I am not one of the lucky ones and I think the worst is customer service jobs.  I have had the privilege of working in a prison serving inmate and working in retail serving society.  Reality is I received more respect for inmates then I have from random people coming into the retail store I worked at.  However, with all the stories I have heard nothing compares to a call center.  Sure I get that not all call center staff are created equally, though neither are all customers.  Some customers take the bad news with a grain of salt and others feel it is their job to ruin another persons day.

Do not get me wrong I have called many different places and have been irritated by the agents I have dealt with or did not like the answer.  However, I have never insulted a person, yelled at them or called them names.  Why you might ask?  Well you need to treat others the way you would like to be treated.  We all know the saying that "the customer is always right" and really this could not be farther then the truth.  Having that mentality for some means that they feel no matter how they act or behave towards the person they are dealing with is right.

I always make sure if I am dealing with a company to try to be as friendly as possible, because you never know what is going on in that other persons life and I'd hope that I would receive the same in return from them if the situations were reversed!  If we all were a bit nicer to each other I am sure the world would be a better place.  Though keep in mind the next time you are rude to someone you might be the reason they quit their job like this....

Ha Ha, Clearly Joey is happy quitting his job!

That's funny, and all, but I keep thinking Joey is being short-sighted. I always try to quit a job on good terms. This world is a very small place, and while this work place is not somewhere he wants to be again someone from that company may end up at a company he does go to apply at, and they will remember this more than the 3.5 years he worked there.

I use to work at a company, and while the job was fine, and the people I worked with was fine, I hated it. I would leave there every night crying, cry until I fell asleep and wake up in the morning with foreboding. I quit there to go to College and change my life, and did it on great terms. While I have not come across those people again, I know that if I am ever in dire straights I can go apply at the company because I left on good terms.

I agree. No matter how much I think I know in reality I would and could never quit a job like that. I guess age makes a difference too. The crazy thing is that now its all over the internet so any future companies can see how he quit this one...
