Book Review: LJ Smiths Night World Series
Well in all honestly I have to admit that this book has been out for many years and I have just recently found out about it. Truly had it not been for The Vampire Diaries I may not have known about this author who many know her as LJ Smith. The first book in the Night World series was published back in 1996, but it has been recently re-released and then I came across it with the new release.
This series has in total 9 books, but with the re-release they are lumped into 3 different series. They are easy to read and although each story is different from the one before it carries on various running themes. The basic of the series is its about humans, vampires, shape shifters, werewolves, witches. If you love romance, or better yet forbidden romance then you definitely need to check out this series. Each book contains its own forbidden love story and the dangerous part for many of these lovers is that their love is against the law by the night world and punishable by death. Many of the characters try to fight against the love they have found, but there is only so much that you can do when you find your soul mate!!
I adored these books I honestly saw it as a modern day Romeo and Juliet. The stories of lovers from two different worlds Night World and Day World and truly how they are working trying to make the world we know a better place so that they can live freely with their soul mate.
After completing this book over the weekend I happened to see that it had said the finale for the series would be coming soon. Of course, I went to see if I could get the final book only to find that there is so much controversy from avid readers of this series. The basic point is that the final book has yet to be completed. Which means some readers who read the book back in the 90's are still waiting for the final book. I found this alone to speak loudly about the series. If people are actually upset and have been waiting all these years then the books must be good. So it is not just me that loved it :-)
If you have not read the Night world series yet then I recommend checking the out. The rumoured relase date for the final book has been from now up until 2014. So atleast you will not have to wait as long as some fans! Though I believe if it is anything like her other books it will be well worth the wait!
Are you looking for other books to read this summer? Why not check out some of the other books I have read with my 50 Book Pledge!

Book Review: The Son in my Eyes
This summer along with trying to keep my 2 and 4 yr old entertained I have been making sure I am finding time for myself to do what I love. Reading!! Recently I was given the chance to read the book The Son in My Eyes: Seeing the Light of Jesus in Vietnam. If you have looked over the books that I have read so far in the 50 book pledge you will clearly see there is an array of books that I read. However, this is the first time I have read a Christian book.
I am always looking for great books to read and many times I find if you do not open yourself up to all types you might miss out on something fabulous . This book I have to say is one of those books. I am sure I am not alone with having heard stories about the Vietnam war, but it was always from the point of view of someone in the western hemisphere. The Son In My Eyes allows you to understand what life was like for a Vietnamese girl growing up and her journey through life.
This book is told in the words of Mai Spencer with Dixie Philips and takes you through her journey of life and how her life started as a Vietnamese girl who grew up worshiping Buddha as she followed her family traditions and then showing how Christ had always been a part of her life and how she changed once she realized this.
This book is a clear inspiration for everyone. There is no question at all that Mai was blessed with many things in her life. Even with all of the hardships and loss that she has had to deal with it is refreshing to see how her point of view is. For many of us we will probably not go through much of what she has in her life. However, it does not mean that the road is any easier. Though this book helps you realize that no matter the road you will always be able to see the light and it truly gives us all hope!
You can purchase this book at Deep River Books for only $14.99. This has been one of my top books I have read this summer and I definitely recommend getting a copy.

Review of a Cardio Workout To Burn Fat
I recently was able to check out a cardio workout to burn fat which was created by Rumi a certified personal trainer who helps by sharing her workout routine online in order to help people burn out excess fat right at home.
If your trying to loose weight like I have been the simple secret I have found is it takes a healthy dose of a proper and nutritious diet and exercise. Though my issue is more sticking with it once I start doing it. I have been constantly looking at different thing to try, which is why I was happy to review this workout.
This particular workout was a great way to add a mix and variety if you are already working out or allows you to jump in even if you are just starting to loose weight.
Her workout targets burning fat by doing short Cardio intervals mixed with strength exercises. The workout targets full body and even if you are pressed for time like I am in a day, as it is just 36 min long you can definitely fit it in.
I recommend checking out the workout I am talking about you can visit her site and download some of her videos and start getting in shape today. Rumi says if you do it 5 times in a week (M-F) you will see some small results, which is great for those who want to see something as soon as possible. Though remember you'll get back what you put into the workout.

Buy your scrubs online!!
Having family that works in the medical field I am very familiar with scrubs and how hard it is for them to find a good quality scrub that is also visually appealing. Like any clothes that one wears if you are going to be wearing something for many hours in a day and multiple times in a week you want to feel good when you are wearing it. No matter what it is if you do not like how it feels on you or how it looks then you are not going to like having to wear it. I was recently made aware of a website http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/ and the first thing I thought of when I went to the page was I seriously need to show this to my sister.
I love the options you have for colours and was happy to see that they have a large variety for men, women and children. So definitely this is the place to check out to buy scrub uniforms online. I personally love the eggplant colour. I am tempted to buy myself a pair, but my husband might question it especially since I work in a call center haha. Take some time and check out their website I guarantee if you know someone who wears scrubs they will thank you for sharing this page with them.

Fabulous Friday!!
Happy Friday everyone I hope yours if fabulous today!
So you may be a little surprised by this weeks fabulous song but just remember that I was born and raised in Saskatchewan so that will explain it all.. However, I think even if I wasn't I would love this artist. It was truly one of the best concerts I have ever been to and actually one of the few concerts I have bought a program! His voice was more then enough that he did not need all the special effects that many artists use today! Truly a favorite artist of mine!
This is one of many songs of his that I love. I have to say though my dog Toby that I had when growing up did not feel the same. As soon as the thunder sounded on this song he'd freak out as if it was a real thunderstorm. So truly we had to play it with caution as we did not want to stress our dog :-)

Kinkast.com Video sharing iPhone/iPod App Review and Giveaway
Here is a little bit more about this great App:
The KinKast App is the easiest way to privately share video clips. Record a moment and share it with two taps! I love the fact it is only two taps! I hate having to be fiddling around trying to get a video recorded and then viola...moment is over. I know we have all had times like that.
It is said that you have to wait nearly half your life for something. That makes me worry when I get involved with something else. Life is too short to have something else to wait for, but guess what?!? KinKast says that with their App there is No waiting (video uploads in the background). This is a big win for me.
With all the confusion with so many applications and PINs for everything it is hard to keep track what is secure and private anymore. KinKast helps to make sure you have one less privacy issue to worry about. You privately share your video with whatever family and friends that you wish. They will receive and email with a link to your video and are able to view with no login required. If you wish you can even upload your video to your Facebook if you want as well to share with a larger network. Of course, remember you can not control if your family or friends send the link to someone else after you have sent it to them. I know I have sent pictures to my mom through the internet of the girls. Then in passing conversations on the phone she is telling me what friends of hers thought about my kids pictures. I clearly knew I had not sent them the pictures, but after asking it was my mom that did. You know how grandparents love to brag and share about their grandchildren. :-)
This next feature of KinKast has to be one of my favorites. Your memories are going to be safely backed up on KinKast servers so if your computer or phone stops functioning. You do not have to worry about your precious videos. I do not know about you, but I have had some cell phones and even a computer that one day just stopped working. I wish I had an application like KinKast back then as so many videos I lost were irreplaceable. You can also access your private video library at KinKast.com. Online, you can watch, share, download and delete videos. Plus, yes there's more, upload videos from other cameras.
Full list of features and iPhone App FAQs at KinKast.com.
If I have no sold you on this application yet it may be because I forgot to tell you that you do not have to worry about your data plans. Sure we all know how much it does cost for us to use our data. Not all of us can afford the expensive plans or have old plans that are now grandfathered. I am thankful when I got to a place that has free Wifi. KinKast does have your best interests at heart. In their settings it has it by default, all uploads are sent over WiFi. However, if you are a lucky one with a great data plan or the money to pay for the expensive data plans it only takes a swipe to turn off this option and enable uploads over 3G. Though mine will be staying on WiFi lol.
The app itself is free, and you get 30 days of free online storage for each video with the free membership. When you upgrade to the premium membership you get unlimited storage and playback on KinKast servers, No Ads and most of all Peace of mind that all of your videos are safely backed up. For less than 2 cups of coffee a month: $4.99/month or $49.99/year you can have the premium membership!
I think the KinKast Video sharing app is very well built, well designed and a great tool to people who use the video capabilities of their iPhones/Ipods and would suggest that everyone download and give it a try today.
Check out this demo:
Win It! One lucky reader will win a free year of KinKast’s Premium service. Woohoo!!!

Chex Gluten Free Cereal
Recently my family was given the opportunity to try a new line of Gluten free cereal from General Mills. Right now, as far as my family is aware, no one has a sensitivity to Gluten, but I am always looking at alternative foods for my family. My children love their carbs and when I say love I truly do mean it. They will have their ceral and then toast in the morning and many days if you ask then what they want for lunch or a snack my eldest will say cereal.
I do have some friends that have a sensitivity to Gluten in their family. I can say it is not an easy task for them to go grocery shopping or eating out in with their little ones as they do not know what will be in the foods and do worry because a lot of the times the restaurants can not even say 100%. I was excited for them seeing that General Mills came out with this cereal because this means grocery shopping and feeding their family just became a little bit easier. It is great to see a company making this step for people with Gluten sensitivities.
We tried both the Honey Nut and the Rice Chex and they were both delicious! They have tons of great recipes that you can try out as well. I have not had a chance yet to make any, but guarantee I will be trying them out and adding them into my Tasty Tuesday posts! You can check them out here as well at www.chexcanada.com
My kiddos have been on a chicken nugget kick lately so this is definitely going to be the first recipe I cook!
Disclosure: I am participating in the Chex Gluten Free program by Mom Central Canada on behalf of General Mills. I received a Chex gift pack and a gift card as a thank you for my participation. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Happy Canada Day from Disney's Winnie the Pooh
Celebrating Winnie the Pooh’s Canadian Heritage.
THE CANADIAN CONNECTION
Winnie the Pooh’s Canadian connection began in August of 1914 when a young veterinarian from Winnipeg, Lieutenant Harry Colebourn, enlisted in the Canadian army. Harry boarded a train bound for Quebec along with his regiment. Along the way, the train made a stop in White River, Ontario. While there, on a station platform, Harry spotted a hunter carrying an orphaned black bear cub. Harry decided to purchase the bear for $20 and bring her along with him to Quebec. It was at this time that Harry chose to name the bear Winnie after his home city of Winnipeg. Harry grew quite fond of Winnie and after a short time together in Quebec, they sailed to England. While camped at Salisbury Plain, Winnie stayed in Colebourn’s tent, slept under his cot, and became a favourite among the Canadian soldiers. So much so, that she became the official mascot of the regiment. When Lt. Coleburn’s unit was ordered to the battlefields of France, Harry arranged for Winnie to stay at the London Zoo. When Harry returned to London after the war, he intended to bring Winnie back home with him. However, he quickly realized how popular Winnie had become with the children that visited the zoo. Harry decided to donate Winnie to the London Zoo and he returned home to Winnipeg.
One of the many visitors to the London Zoo was a young boy by the name Christopher Robin Milne. Winnie was Christopher Robin’s favourite attraction at the zoo and he even renamed his teddy bear, Winnie the Pooh, after her. It was around this time that Christopher’s father, A.A. Milne, began writing stories based on the adventures of his son’s stuffed animals. A.A. Milne wrote a series of books about Winnie the Pooh, his son Christopher Robin, and all of their friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. The rest is history and now you know the true origins of how our favourite, silly old bear got his name!
Fabulous Friday!!
I hope you are having a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!! I am for sure :-)
This weeks song is an oldie, but a goodie!! I do not want to even mention how old I was when this song came out. HaHa...but it is one through the years that I love and if it comes on you can guarantee you'll see me singing it loud and proud and all off key! :-)
