Against the Wild Review and Giveaway (US & CAN)

This action-packed feature film tells the dramatic tale of two siblings and their Alaskan Malamute, who must make an emergency landing when their small plane has engine problems. They find themselves in a beautiful but potentially dangerous natural environment that they must overcome together. Written and directed by Richard Boddington, starring CJ Adams (The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Dan in Real Life), Erin Pitt (Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and the upcoming American Girl: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight) and Natasha Henstridge (“She Spies,” The Whole Nine Yards) and co-starring John Tench (Tooth Fairy), the film makes its national retail and digital debut on March 11, 2014.

A gripping adventure for the whole family, Against the Wild (SRP $24.98) begins with siblings Zach (Adams) and Hannah (Pitt) traveling by seaplane with Chinook, their Alaskan Malamute, to visit their father (Ted Whittall of “Beauty & The Beast”) for the weekend. When their plane encounters engine trouble, the pilot is forced to make an emergency landing in the woods in the middle of nowhere. As they travel on foot to seek help, Zach, Hannah and their loyal companion come face-to-face with the challenges of the wilds – from wolves and grizzly bears to forest fires. Using all the wilderness skills they know – and with some help from Chinook, the siblings must work together to overcome each obstacle and conquer the ultimate goal – returning home again.
An exciting, fast-paced adventure with beautiful cinematography and a stirring musical score performed by a live 65-piece orchestra in Prague, Against the Wild will keep the whole family on the edge of their seat from start to finish.

Against the Wild
has been approved for all ages by the Dove Foundation, which awarded the film with 5/5 Doves, and recommends it as “a terrific film for the entire family!  I have to say that I agree fully with their review!  My children who are 5 and 7 could not take their eyes off of the movie.  My eldest has a very active imagination so we are always cautious with what movies she watches in the evening.  As from experience anything too terrifying or scary for her can lead to a sleepless night in our home.  I am happy to say that there were no issues at all in our home.  She was able to watch it and was not scared in the least.  The suspense had her asking questions through out and rather then just sitting and watching the movie it had her thinking through it.  What is even better is outside of my eldest we as a family as a whole enjoyed it and definitely recommend it!!

The most important item in my "Be Prepared" Kit would be a compass so if I got lost, I could find my way.
